"You can walk up to the roof of the New Cultural Centre, passing through some lovely public gardens on the sloped roof of one of the buildings. From the main rooftop, you'll be able to overlook the marina's and get a gorgeous view of the sea and, if you're there at the right time of day, of the sunset.
Inside you'll find a sort of public library on the top floor, with a very laid-back atmosphere. There is also a small cupcake-and-coffee corner.[...]"

Yorgos Madianos was an exceptional guide, he was able to tell the story behind each art and gave a lot to understand how much he understood the subject. Fantastic
Hi, I visited this beautiful museum for the second time last week. It is rightly considered one of the richest in works (most of which are very ancient and well preserved) to be admired. Absolutely not to be missed and photographed room by room. The Top, for me, is the huge statue of Zeus and the hall full of wonderful busts!
Seeing the Pantheon by moonlight from our bedroom window in the Noble Suites on the first night simply set the scene for the end
"We took a 2 week private tour that commenced in Athens and continued around to Delphi, Olympia and Galaxidi before heading down to the Mani, across to Monemvasia and Nafplio. Explore Athens walking tour
"We had a walking tour with Yannis and it was incredible!! It was just my husband and I which was great, but would be fun for a larger group as well. Yannis was incredibly intelligent and very well versed on the history of Athens, as well as current events. We got to see some of the more popular neighborhoods, but also areas that we definitely would not have seen without doing this tour. We saw beautiful street art, had Greek coffee and Greek desserts. We loved our time and it was SO worth doing. Especially with Yannis, he was so much fun to be with!!! Highly highly recommend."

Cooking with Chef George
If I were on death row, I would want Chef George to prepare my last meal! He taught us how to purchase food and prepare for a great meal this is one is personable. He was fun he was personable and we highly recommend Chef George to anyone. We tried to hire him to come to the US to be our chef but sadly he declined.
Experience Greek food culture up close!
We were on the way with our guide Panos, who gave us insights into the Greek eating and drinking culture. First we were on a quiet roof terrace, where we tasted Greek coffee, olive oil and honey. Then we had puff pastry delicacies filled with feta, meat and spinach. Later we visited a market where we tasted olives, meat and fish. Then we visited an Armenian restaurant, which had feta, figs and various types of meat and sausage products. Later there was the typical Greek dish souvlaki and finally we tried baklava with ice cream in a small pastry shop. All in all, we were very satisfied with the tour and our very friendly guide Panos. I highly recommend the tour to everyone.
Super duper great tour
We were traveling with our guide Panos. He showed us unique glimpses of Greek cuisine. We were allowed to try everything from authentic Greek coffee to freshly fished fish. Panos designed the tour according to our wishes. I can only recommend the tour.
Flavor explosion seasoned with unique insights into Greek life!
First we went to see the Acropolis on our own and then met up with our guide Panos. First he took us to a hidden coffee shop with a cozy roof terrace and there we tasted different types of honey and olive oils over a cup of Greek coffee. The calm in this actually very lively city was heavenly. Then we continued towards the city center, where we tasted delicious bites of puff pastry that were prepared in front of our eyes and filled with feta, chicken or spinach. Then we went to the central food market, where Panos, who reports on life in Athens all the time, let us taste some types of olives. In a small, hidden place between the meat and fish market, there were small samples that tasted very tasty. [...]''

Outstanding - Flavors of Athens walking tour
We recently took the walking Flavors of Athens tour. Our guide was Yannis, an architectural, history, religious, chef. What a four-hour tour - it ended too soon.
Yannis took us to his favorite local stops:
• First dried nuts and fruits, candies
• Second, a street stand for Koulouri, sort of a Greek bagel. Apparently, Greeks have coffee at home and stop for these on the way to work.[...]''

Just great!
We were very, very enthusiastic about our guide Jakob. He guided us through Athens off the beaten track and impressed us with his historical and political knowledge of Athens (and Greece in general). He ended the stroll through Athens with us in a magical restaurant in Plaka (Yiasemi). Through Jacob we got a wonderful impression of this historic city and through him we were able to see Athens and Greece from a completely different perspective!

We had the absolute BEST experience. For starters, we got lost and didn’t make it to the meet up point on time (or at all) our guide Nota somehow found us and I still don’t know how she did it. She was the nicest person and made sure that we had an amazing tour even though we were a little short on time. Without her we would not have appreciated the rich history of the Acropolis. We met Chef George in Plaka directly after our tour of the ruins. He introduced himself and our first stop was a little cafe for coffee and early morning desserts. We talked about American mobster movies while he taught us all about Greek coffee traditions while sampling desserts from the area. After that as we walked to the markets we talked about past and present culture of Athens. Arriving at the meat market we were able to see all the fresh meat and fish available to buy. [...]''

"My husband and I and our two teenage sons spent five hours with George exploring some of the less touristy neighborhoods of Athens. We learned about modern Greek politics by seeing neighborhood sites and street art (i.e., graffiti). George was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to make the tour as interesting for our sons as it was for the adults. Terrific Tour with George
George was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Athens as well as street art around town. He took us through the Byzantine history of the city in one segment, and the incredible open market in another. We finished up with a cooking class in a beautiful space and enjoyed a meal and chit chatting about sports by the end. Highly, highly recommend.

Flavors of Athens
We just finished and amazing culinary tour of Athens with George. We had 3 generations from age 13-75 and everyone had a wonderful time, enjoyed food and drink and learned a ton about food and Greek history and culture while walking around the city. Our itinerary was adjusted real time based on some requests. We highly recommend the experience and if possible book George as your guide, he is a trained chef and very knowledgeable on a variety of subjects.

Incredible Tour!
Panos was available for any request from us and from the beginning it left us totally at ease and gave us lots of tips about the city, such as where to have lunch and a drink. All the food we tried during the tour was fantastic. immense for those who want to spend an active afternoon on the streets of Athens and want to get to know Greek gastronomy.
Having a blast while exploring Athens
Having this tour was definitely worth it, as I got to see the little corners of Athens by the eye of a local. The tour started with the visit to the Acropolis, one of the wonders of Greece, and continued with a walk around the centre of Athens with an insightful local. Walking around the centre, I got to try amazing delicacies and understand more about the food culture of Greece. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Greece for the first time and wants to have a unique experience.
Amazing Day!
My wife and I did this tour/cooking class with George and his team and it was amazing! We walked through the market and learned how to pick the best meat/fish. Then we went and cooked a traditional Greek meal with them, which was also amazing. The best part of the whole day is that they were relatable, we talked about sports, Ancient Greece, Modern Greece, and everything in between. It was 100% an amazing day and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens!

This was exactly what we were looking for. George was great keeping both us and our early 20 kids engaged. The food was good but we really enjoyed the off script stuff that George showed us and talked about. His enthusiasm for the food and helping us understand the culture was great. We had the Acropolis tour for children (ours are 10 and 8 years old) with Stelios as a guide and the tablets with the 3D visualizations. It was a perfect fit, and the duration of 2 hours is sufficient.

Nota is an archeologist who grew up in Athens and is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture. She was considerate of of needs and we really enjoyed our 6 hours with her. We learned so much more than we ever would have in days on our own. She met us at our hotel and finished in the Plaka with an easy stroll home. You should have sturdy walking shoes for all tours in Athens. Marble is very slippery! And take a snack with you as we didn't have lunch to 2:30 after a 9:00 am start.

Interesting, historical and delicious!
I took the acropolis and food tour which is 8 people maximum. First we went to the Acropolis with a guide, which was very interesting because the guide knew a lot and was enthusiastic about it. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to look around the Acropolis. Then the food tour continued, which was an absolute highlight! The guide was open-minded and told lots of "inside" information about local food and the culture of Greece. You could try a lot and in the end you were definitely full. It was a beautiful day that felt like spending it with friends and it was educational too.

Delphi visit
We are from Washington DC area with three teenage boys. Took Athens insiders private tour , Yannis arrived at the right time and drove us to Delphi, 3 hours ride from Athens.
He kept us and the kids completely engaged with Athens' historical, political, economic, agriculture, and educational system. Yannis is very knowledgeable, funny, and friendly guy. Took a pit stop at a good place to grab food. Also stopped at a nice scenic spot for my Nikon D750.
On the way back stopped at an authentic Greek restaurant Kalpamis, great food. We loved the food.

George's passion and knowledge of Greek gastronomy was inspirational and so enjoyable. Amazing day in Athens!

I was traveling with my parents and aunt and uncle and was looking to get a good overview tour at the start of our trip. Chef George food tour
We decided to do the "food tour" and that was with chef George. I can honestly say I was not prepared for this surprise. I actually got a guide with a few common interests. Urban street art,music,style,hobbies and clearly food. He has a very educational back ground but is also a very fun and light hearted guide. He made it interesting. We made our stops,tried multiple "traditional" delights,and even got introduced to work of certain artists. Even took his time to help us as we walked through the market to negotiate an item at the market [...]''
My wife and I spent 5 hours with George, sampling different local foods. He's engaging, funny and very knowledgeable. Totally enjoyable.
Athens Insiders Tours - Flavors of Athens with George - Exceptional!
Chef George took three on a four hour walking tour of Athens. It was exceptional in every way! By way of background, George was a private chef for several years so well versed in Greek cuisine and culture. Friendly, articulate and fluent in English, George led us through the streets of Athens as we visited restaurants, pastry shops, local meat and fish markets and spice galleries. All along the way he treated us to samples of Greece's wonderful cuisine with detailed explanations on ingredients and preparations. George added thoughtful historical details of the city and its surroundings along the way. We had an exceptional afternoon and highly recommend George and his Athens Insider Flavor of Athens tour.

The contact with Athens Insiders was very friendly in the run-up to the trip and my emails were always answered very quickly. We had booked both the airport transfers and a day trip to the Peloponnese. The minivans were very well maintained, the drivers extremely friendly and very punctual. The service with WiFi in the car, drinks and snacks was fantastic. Is absolutely recommendable!

Fantastic custom tour
We were very enthusiastic about our tour guide Jakob, who calmly brought us closer to Athens - with a lot of historical and current knowledge. Of all the city tours that we have done so far, this was the most individual and the best. You had the feeling of following a friend who brings you closer to your city than an official city guide. With the help of the tour we were able to explore the city very well on our own in the following days.

Perfect tour for children and adults
The private Acropolis tour was great thanks to our guide Stelios! He understood how to make the tour varied and exciting for our children and us, and with his great knowledge he was able to respond to our questions again and again and to weave exciting stories on the most varied of aspects. At this point we would like to thank Stelios very much :-)! We had rented the mini ipads, and they were the perfect visual addition to our tour, and showed us perfectly implemented 3D scenarios of the Acropolis at the time of its heyday! We were the only ones with the Ipads, and other visitors often tried to catch a glimpse of them ;-)! Absolutely to be recommended!

Amazing Treasure Hunt in Athens
We wanted to do something both educational and fun for our children durinh the Easter holidays and we found Athens Insiders on TripAdvidor. The best choice we could ever make. Iliana was our guide for the day, and helped our children, as well as us the adults, find out so much we didn't know about the history and culture of our own city! Our children loved her! City walk that has an effect
We were only briefly in Athens and wished for a city walk that could show us something about the "real" Athens and the life of the people here, off the beaten track. Our young city guide gave us exactly that - with a lot of knowledge and depth. In terms of the atmosphere, we had the feeling that we were traveling with a friend rather than a "professional". Highly recommended!

Treasure hunt for kids was just perfect
It's a unique way to discover Athens with the whole family! The whole communication with the agency was perfect. The tour guide Jacob was great!
Nota absolutely made our time in Athens. Met us at our Air-BnB and walked up to to the Acropolis. She struck the perfect balance of archeologist/teacher/guide for our 8,10,12, and 40 year kids. Brought the temples at the Acropolis back to life and accompanied us down to the museum. Great day invested in the history of Athens. Highly recommended!

We did the 2.5 hour orientation tour followed by a 1.5 hour tour with 8 people. Our tour guide Stelios was very well prepared. From the millennia-old history of Athens to the current political situation in Greece, he knew how to report in perfect German, rich in anecdotes. The orientation tour started at Monastiraki Square, took us through the Agora and around the Acropolis. The tour in a new luxury minibus went through the government district past all the important museums and ended with a visit to Mount Lykavittos, which gave us a great view of Athens all the way to the sea. I travel a lot for work, leisure and I'm also a travel writer/blogger. I would rank this tour as one of the best I have ever experienced. My blog concentrates on authentic experiences and you can't get more authentic than going on a food tour with a trained chef in his home city! My husband and I opted for a private experience and i have to say George was very personable and his knowledge of his craft was impressive. Athens Gourmet Tour
A professional Greek chef named Yorgos and his assistant Marie took us on a fascinating tour of local markets where we were given a short history of Greek culinary traditions and bought fresh ingredients for our subsequent cooking class. Our chefs did a wonderful job of both teaching and entertaining us in a modern and cozy kitchen in the heart of Athens for a hands-on cooking experience. Highly recommended!
Excellent tour with George
We chose this tour in an effort to get to know the Athens where we grew up. We met George in Monastiraki and he took us on a unique trip to the alleys of Kerameikos, Metaxourgeio and the area of Psyrri. He passed on not only his knowledge of street art but also his enthusiasm for us to discover it ourselves. We had a wonderful time and saw a part of Athens that neither of us had ever seen. Fantastic kids treasure hunt tour
We had a fantastic tour on Boxing Day with kostos. It was the kid friendly treasure hunt your. Our 8 year old kids loved it & so did we. It was a great way for all of us to see the sights whilst making it fun for the kids. At each stop they had to complete challenges (e.g. Take photo, colour in, answer questions, do a jigsaw, work out where we were going using the map, write their name in Greek, play a game etc). It made the tour so much fun for them and when they got a challenge right they got a piece of pottery and at the end they needed to use the pottery for a final challenge! [...]''
