You will start from Athens to enjoy the unique experience of watching the sunset from the Temple of Poseidon.

The drive along the impressive coastline of Attica is a beautiful experience in itself. The winding road follows the contours of the countless successive little coves and bays, offering amazing views of this dramatic landscape which the ancients associated with Poseidon’s kingdom.

When you reach the temple at Sounio you will have time to explore the archaeological site and marvel at the the serene scenery and the sun sinking below the surface of the azure waters of the Aegean.

A-1 tour

We did the Acropolis and Cape Sounion sunset tour with Athens insider tours. What an amazing experience. Hands down to our guide Andronikos and Aggelos for such an amazing tour. It was very personal and very informative. From the history of Athens to the perfect lunch setup at a Michelin rated restaurant at Kuzina to our sunset tour at Cape Sounion - it was perfect. They even had drinks and snacks in our luxury vehicle for the day. I highly recommend this company without a second thought. Thank you for a memorable day.

Awesome Tour Experience! - Acropolis, Cape Sounion, and Flavors of Athens Tour

We did 3 tours in 2 days with the Athens Insiders. The first morning was the Acropolis and Plaka tour, then that evening the Cape Sounion Sunset Tour. The following morning we did the 4 hour walking Flavor Of Athens Tour.

I should caveat this with the fact that our travel agent set us up on these tours for our honeymoon and we did not do the research ahead of time that you are currently doing. That being said, it was MORE than worth it.

Walking Tour of Athens, Museums and Cape Sounion

The guides that led each of our three tours really brought Athens to life for us. The guides are personable and very knowledeable. They were able to convey lots of information for my teenage son, a real ancient history buff, introduce us to Plaka and guide us to delicious food. Had I known about this gem, I would have hired them instead of driving around Greece myself.
