We have gathered for you all the most recent official information and guidelines from the local authorities to inform your guests on the health protection measures in Greece.

But first, let us inform you what Athens Insiders does as a company, to ensure the safety of our mutual guests.

We are on top of the situation, we comply with the measures and we go the extra mile for our mutual guests to feel comfortable, safe, and above all to have an amazing experience!

  •   All our employees are vaccinated against Covid-19 or undergo a mandatory self-test two times per week and 24 hrs before any tour
  •   Our hosts, guides, and drivers are wearing masks at all times  
  •   We offer disposable masks and sanitizer to all guests
  •   We  comply will all measures announced by the government and WHO
  •   We only offer private tours and transfers 
  •   We  coordinate accordingly to avoid crowds and outdoors sittings at all times
  •   Our hosts, guides, and drivers are trained to be aware of operations and hygiene safety
  •   Our vehicles are properly disinfected before any transfer
  •  

Health protection measures and protocols

Use of masks

The use of non-medical face masks is mandatory indoors and outdoors throughout Greece, except for individuals for whom wearing a face mask is not recommended for medical reasons and children under the age of four (4).

Curfew 

Movements are allowed daily from 05:00 to 00.30 across the country.

Outdoor Archeological sites

  • Group visits to the outdoor archaeological site should not exceed 15 persons
  • The use of protective masks is mandatory for all visitors
  • Τhe required distance of 1,5 meters from others must be maintained at all times, especially when queuing 
  • Regular hand washing and the frequent use of an antiseptic solution containing no less than 70% alcohol is strongly advised.
  • Payment by electronic means and cards should be preferred over cash whenever possible

Note: The obligatory use of wireless tour guide system (whisperers) has yet been clarified

Museums 

  • Group visits to the indoor museums should not exceed 8 persons*
  • The use of protective masks is mandatory for all visitors
  • Τhe required distance of 2 meters from others must be maintained at all times, especially when queuing 
  • Regular hand washing and the frequent use of an antiseptic solution containing no less than 70% alcohol are strongly advised
  • Payment by electronic means and cards should be preferred over cash whenever possible

* Group size might differ among museums

Note: The obligatory use of wireless tour guide systems (whisperers) has yet been clarified.

Health protection measures in vehicles 

  • Currently, the following number of passengers is allowed per vehicle category
  • 2 (two) passenger per any Sedan vehicle (except for family members with minors and/ or medical escort)
  • 3 (three) passengers per MiniVan (except for family members with minors and/ or medical escort)
  • 85% of the vehicle’s passenger capacity for Mini Bus and Coach Bus categories
  • The use of protective masks is mandatory for all passengers
  • Frequent use of an antiseptic solution containing no less than 70% alcohol is strongly advised

After every disembarkation and between services, our drivers clean and disinfect, using certified antibacterial wipes, all the parts of the vehicle that are heavily touched by passengers (internal and external cabin door and luggage compartment knobs and handles, light and air-conditioning controls, arm-rests, seat-belt buckles, mobile-phone chargers, etc.

Health protection measures at Restaurants, Cafes and Bars

  • Service is provided in outdoor spaces only. Music reproduction is not allowed and all customers must be seated. An exception applies to restaurants, bars, and cafes operating in indoor hotel spaces and serving hotel guests only.
  • Up to six (6) individuals are seated per table
  • Opening hours are 05:00 to 00.15
  • Customers waiting for a table must wear a face mask
  • An arrangement of tables and seats is made as per the physical distancing & health protection guidelines in place
  • In bars and cafes, two customers may be seated on stools at the counter and a 1.5 m distance must be kept from the next two customers
  • Frequent use of an antiseptic solution containing no less than 70% alcohol is strongly advised
  • Payment by electronic means and cards should be preferred over cash whenever possible

Health protection measures for Domestic travel by Airplane or Boat

Residents and foreign visitors are allowed to travel by ferry or plane only if they have one of the following:

  •  A vaccination certificate (stating that 14 days have passed since full vaccination for Covid-19)
  •  A negative PCR test performed less than three days (72 hours) 
  •  A negative rapid antigen test taken 24 hours prior to travel 
  •  A negative self-test taken 24 hours prior to travel.

Please note that those who have recovered from Covid-19 can present a certificate issued two months after their recovery (valid for nine months). The staff of ferry and airline companies will be responsible to check that passengers are carrying the required documentation before boarding. The rule will be in force for all travelers, Greeks and foreigners, including children over 5 years old.

IMPORTANT: Passengers who prefer to travel with a negative self-test must declare the result before traveling on the self-testing.gov.gr platform and print out the document.

Note: No rules apply for travel to the islands of Evia, Lefkada and Salamina.
